I am interested in how to create work that the audience can touch, hear, smell and see. I was inspired by the use of plastic bags in the play Liquid directed by Liu Xiaoyi. And I also have concern about the problem of plastic pollution that we face world wide. A lot of this waste plastic ends up in the sea, being eaten by fish and birds and ultimately returning to us humans to poison us. Plastic Sea is a multi-sensory work that is a social comment on plastic pollution. I hope to create various versions of this installation. This first version in 2017 was part of the exhibition Clap Trap, a work in progress showing for the Master of Art (Fine Arts) programme at LASALLE College Of The Arts.
All the plastic bags used were donated.
